Stahlbush Island Farms - Frozen Cranberries
Tart and lively, cranberries are a wonderful addition to baked goods and smoothies, not just for cranberry sauce anymore! But still, these are GREAT for making cranberry sauce.
Red wine & balsamic vinegar cranberry sauce.
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 80 ml red wine
- 2 cups whole fresh cranberries
- 1/4 cup organic cane sugar, loosely packed
- 80 ml water
- as much freshly ground black pepper as you like. (I put approximately a 1tsp)
Reduced the balsamic vinegar and red wine in a pot over medium heat until it began to steam then pour in the sugar, water & cranberries. After most of the berries had broken open add black pepper and mix.
Pour in a serving dish and garnish with more freshly ground black pepper.
Even tastier if you let it sit and thicken for a few hours.
